Celebrity chef Nigel Slater’s childhood story told in a very odd tone and pace. Despite the mouthwatering ingredients (writer, cast) the result is neither funny nor tragic but surprisingly underwhelming ….probably not unlike that lemon meringue pie which, admittedly, looks delicious.
